Conflict of Interest Policy

International Journal of Multidisciplinary Comprehensive Research (IJMCR)

Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to ensure transparency, integrity, and objectivity in all processes of the International Journal of Multidisciplinary Comprehensive Research (IJMCR). The journal requires all authors, reviewers, and editors to disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could influence the outcomes of research publication, evaluation, or editorial decisions.

Definition of Conflict of Interest (COI)

A conflict of interest occurs when personal, financial, professional, or other relationships could compromise or appear to compromise the objectivity, integrity, or fairness of authors, reviewers, or editors in the publication process. This includes but is not limited to:

       1. Financial interests (e.g., funding, employment, consultancy, stock ownership, patents)
       2. Personal relationships or rivalries
       3. Academic or professional competition
       4. Any other circumstance that may bias judgment

Responsibilities of Authors

Authors must:

  1. Disclose all relevant financial and non-financial relationships that could be perceived as a conflict of interest at the time of manuscript submission.

  2. Declare the source of funding, sponsorship, or support for the research.

  3. Include a Conflict of Interest Statement in their manuscript, even if there is no conflict (e.g., “The authors declare no conflict of interest.”).

Responsibilities of Reviewers

Reviewers are expected to:

  1. Recuse themselves from reviewing any manuscript where a potential conflict of interest exists.

  2. Disclose any personal, professional, or financial relationships that may influence their review.

  3. Maintain confidentiality and integrity throughout the review process.

Responsibilities of Editors

Editors must:

  1. Avoid any decision-making on manuscripts where they have a conflict of interest.

  2. Assign handling editors or external reviewers to ensure unbiased evaluation.

  3. Maintain transparency by declaring potential conflicts related to manuscripts they handle.

Disclosure Procedure
  1.  All authors must complete a COI declaration during submission.
  2. Reviewers and editors must disclose conflicts via the journal’s online system or through official correspondence.
  3. Any undisclosed COI identified post-publication will be addressed according to journal policies, including possible retraction or correction.
Transparency and Reporting

The IJMCR is committed to full transparency. All disclosed conflicts of interest are handled in accordance with best practices recommended by DOAJ, COPE, and Scopus indexing requirements. Statements regarding COI may be published alongside the article to inform readers.
